Winter Social

Gadget Cache and

Creative Cache Contest

Back by popular demand
... or at least we thought it was a good idea... and now expanded.

At the 2020 Winter Social in Kalamazoo, a Gadget Cache contest resulted in several good entries.  Those entries are shown in the scrolling photos above.  After taking a year off for obvious reasons, we hope to expand this contest, attracting even more entrants.  Get your thinking caps on and sharpen your pencils, and get your tools ready to create something fun.

Gadget and Creative Cache Contest Rules:

  1. MiGO membership is not a requirement to compete in the contest.
  2. Entrant must be pre-registered to compete in the contest. Please use the button below to pre-register as early as possible to ensure your space in the judging room. If the room fills up, registrations will be cut off.
  3. Contest is limited to one entry (cache) per person.
  4. The entrant does not decide which category to enter. That will be up to the judges.
  5. Entry must be both designed and assembled by the entrant. The design or actual cache cannot be purchased or commissioned by the entrant from anyone else, with the exception that the entrant may enlist another person to help in fabricating a part or parts needed if entrant does not have tooling available.

  12. The entry must be complete and fully functional at the event venue to be judged by attendees.
  13. A written summary of how the entry works or how the log and swag are accessed must be provided on 8 1/2 x 11 paper for inspection by event staff. The summary must include the entrant's name, representative's name (if different), instructions for operation and preferably a photo of the entry. Summary will not necessarily be requested for viewing or judging.
  14. Either the entrant or a representative of the entrant must be present at the venue to set up, present the entry for judging and remove the entry. The entrant will not be present during actual judging.
